With nearly three decades in the industry, Paul Anthony McLinden has helped to shape mainstream Pilates into one of the world’s fastest growing exercise methods. During Paul’s classical ballet career in the 1980’s, he trained as an apprentice to Pilates legend Alan Herdman, the man credited with first bringing Pilates to the UK. By the end of the 1990’s, Paul had travelled the globe studying and certifying hundreds of Pilates teachers as the Head of Teacher Training for the Body Control Pilates Association, an undisputed world leader in Pilates education.
Today, Paul remains one of the most respected and recognisable names in the Pilates industry. Since co-founding Brighton and Hove’s first Pilates studio in 1997, 16 local matwork teachers and studio owners in and around Brighton and Hove first qualified to teach Pilates as studio apprentices to Paul. He remains a Senior Course Lecturer for the Body Control Pilates Association and is certified as a Level 3 Pilates Instructor by the Register for Exercise Professionals.
Paul and his hand-picked staff of trainers work with a vast cross-section of clients at ocean wave pilates, ranging from brick layers to professional dancers, sports personalities and a handful of high-profile Hollywood celebrities.
